PSAR Plug-ins
Through its support for plug-ins the processing
capabilities of PSAR can extended to virtually
accomplish anything.
Plug-in Software Development
Kit (SDK)
The PSAR SDK allows anyone with a bit of knowledge
in Visual Basic to start writing plug-ins for
PromaSoft AutoResponder either for personal use
or for commercial use. Note that this only applies
to the personal, professional and enterprise versions
of PSAR. The preferred development environment
for plug-ins is Visual Basic 6.0 but you can choose
any platform you like (e.g. Visual C++). The SDK
contains a ready to use project template where
you only need to add your own code, compile and
distribute the plug-in. The SDK also contains
full code samples to create some basic plug-ins.

Note: make sure to install the SDK in the directory
where you have originally installed PSAR. If you
accepted the defaults during installation of PSAR
you can do the same here.
Some ideas for plug-ins
- A intelligent spam detection plug-in
- A plug-in that enables PSAR users to manage
attachments in the emails that are received.
- A plug-in to enable SMS support (Short Message
Service)
- A plug-in to provide ASP support (Active Server
Pages)
- A plug-in that dynamically generates graphics
based on data out of a database
- A plug-in to provide virus-checking abilities
- A plug-in to interface with your domotica
system so that you can turn on the heating by
just sending an email.
- A plug-in to provide highly advanced tracking
mechanisms
- A plug-in that translates received email to
another language on the fly
- A plug-in that detects offensive language
and takes appropriate action
- A plug-in that enables PSAR users to use templates,
which can be applied to outgoing email (e.g.
letterheads etc…)
- A plug-in that interfaces with a proprietary
email-system (e.g. webmail)
Having your plug-ins
on the PromaSoft site
If you have created a plug-in that you feel can
be beneficiary to other PSAR users, there is a
possibility to have your plug-in listed on the
PromaSoft website. Your plug-in can be free but
you may also sell it. Each plug-in listed on the
PromaSoft site will be evaluated and will receive
a rating. Each plug-in listed on the PromaSoft
site will be allowed to use the PSAR Plug-in label.
