Getting North
American Channels in EPGcenter
This tutorial describes how to get North American
channels into EPGcenter. NA is different from
all other countries/locations because you need
to create a (free) account with an EPG provider.
This will all be described in detail later.
| Install
the XMLTV Integration Package |
Assuming that you already have EPGcenter installed
on your PC, install the XMLTV
integration package
| Create
an account at zap2it |
Goto zap2it
and click on the New User? Signup link
Enter your details and enter ZYZM-TE5O-SBUT
(Letter O) for the certificate code
Once subscribed you need to add a Lineup. To do
that click on the Add Linup button. You
will need to enter your ZIPcode and also the channels
you want to see.
Because for North America you need to create
an account you need to excute below steps once
in comparison to other countries.
In windows Click Start / Run and enter
CMD in the Open box
In the command window enter the command
cd
c:\program files\EPGcenter\XMLTV\bin
Then enter the following command
xmltv
tv_grab_na_dd --configure
Now enter all needed details. This will be the
username and password you have just used to signup
with zap2it. At a certain point, it will say "Fetching
From DataDirect". After that you will need
to specify which lineup to use. If you only have
one lineup it will be 0.
Enter "no" to have all channels from
your lineup. In EPGcenter you will be able to
choose the channels you actually want to download
and see.
The good news is that you will only have to do
this once
Open EPGcenter
Select Edit / Add Input Location
Enter whatever you want in the description field
Select XMLTVOrganizer in the input type drop down
box
Immediately you will see a channel selector.
Here select North America
Select the channels you are interested in and
click Save and again Save
This concludes the configuration of EPGcenter.
You can always change the channels at a later
time.
Note: to effectively download the EPG data you
need to press F6 or schedule an automatic
download in EPGcenter.
