Video Streaming
on the Dreambox
EPGcenter allows you to perform Video Streaming
to your PC. In other words this will enable you
to watch your Dreambox channels on your PC. This
also allows you to watch High Definition channels
on your PC.

VLC Media Player ActiveX Plugin
To be able to perform video streaming you will
need to install version 0.8.5 of VLC. Most important
is that you select the "ActiveX" installation
option when installing VLC. VLC can be downloaded
here
Correct FTP server address
Obviously you need to make sure that on the options/FTP
server panel you have entered the correct IP address,
userid and password of your dreambox
There are several ways to start video streaming
in EPGcenter
Immediately watch the currently playing channel
Press CTRL-P in EPGcenter. Video streaming
will immediately start on the channel that is
currently playing on the Dreambox
or
Select View/Streaming Video from the Menu
Watch a specific EPGcenter channel
Double click on a channel in the channels tree
on the main EPG page. Video streaming will start
on the selected channel
or
Right click on a channel and select "Video
Streaming"
or
Right click on a program and select "Video
Streaming"
Watch a specific Dreambox channel
Press CTRL-B to open the Bouquet browser then
double click on the channel you want to view.
The difference here is that you get a list of
ALL channels you have in the bouquets on your
Dreambox.
Once streaming is started you can control the
player using following hotkeys
F1 - Shows an overview of all available
hotkeys
F - Toggles Fullscreen view. Note that
in fullscreen all other hotkeys will still work
B - Toggles the Bouquet browser allowing
you to zap
M - Toggles Mute
T - Toggles the video player to keep on
top or not
A - Changes the dimensions of the video
player to fit the aspect ratio of the playing
program
E - Toggles the EPG timeline view on top
of the player. This also works in fullscreen mode.
You can use the arrow keys to navigate in the
EPG
ESC or X - Exits the video streaming
Page-Down - Zap to next channel
Page-Up - Zap to previous channel
Numpad Minus - Volume Down
Numpad Plus - Volume Up
Tab - Switches screen locations of the
video streaming window to be in one of the four
corners of your screen

Starting EPGcenter with the \STREAM commandline
parameter will immediatly start the video streaming
of the currently playing channel in fullscreen
mode.
