PSAR Video Clips

From this page you can download several movie clips that show you how certain things are done in PromaSoft AutoResponder.

Note that this list of video clips is far from complete. Having a video clip for all available features in PSAR would lead to a very long list.

New video clips are added to the bottom of this list.

QuickStart This movie shows you all steps needed to get going with PSAR and create your very first autoresponder.
Simple Filter This movie shows you how to create a simple autoresponder (filter) that will reply to all email having the word 'request' in the subject line.
POP Account Look how easy it is to enter your POP account settings. Remember that you can define as many accounts as needed.
SMTP Account How to enter your default SMTP server. This is the SMTP server that will be used as default for all POP accounts.
Matched Email This movie shows how PSAR retrieves email and sees that it is matched by a filter. A reply is sent immediately.
Messages Panel Here you can see the messages panel of PSAR. It shows you that there was one email received and that a reply was sent.
Form Handler Shows you how easy it is to extract data out of incoming matched emails and have these stored in a database.
Mailing See how easy it is to use the form handler database, that was created in one of the above videos, to define a mailing.
Schedule Mailing This video shows how to schedule above mailing to go out at a certain specified date and time.
Actions Demonstration on how you can add several different actions to one filter. In this example, when a certain email is matched, data is extracted to a database, a sound is played, the email is printed and an MSN Messenger message is sent.
MSN Messenger Demonstrates how to add an MSN Messenger action to your filter. In this example an MSN Message is sent automatically when the subject of the email contains the word 'msntest'
Scripts This movie demonstrates how easy it is to generate dynamic email content using scripts. The script we used here produces a color fading text. Of course there are a lot of other scripts you can use or write yourself.
Web Cache This is a demonstration on how to use cached web pages in your replies and mailings. In this example a cached copy of the promasoft support page is made and later used to be sent in a reply. Note that you can schedule automated updates of cached web pages.
Database scripts This movie demonstrates which steps are needed to setup following scenario: we want to setup PSAR in such a way that the next available userid and password out of an internal database is sent in response to an email.
MSN Bot Take a look at the built in MSN Bot in action.
Merged Mailing This video clip demonstrates how to take a csv file (comma separated file) and perform a merged one time mailing with it. It uses a PSAR contact database.
Printer Action This video demonstrates how easy it is to create a filter that prints incoming email. The filter will print all messages that have the word 'Create Hardcopy' in the subject line. On top of that an MSN Messenger message is sent to notify support that an email has been printed.
Import Filter Definitions

This video demonstrates how easy it is to import existing filter definitions into PSAR. Importing and Exporting allows you to share filter definitions with other PSAR users. After you've imported a filter definition you are free to change whatever settings you like.

The filter definition used in the video can be found here. Simply download it and save this file on your PC. Then watch the movie.

Import Form Handler Definitions

This video demonstrates how easy it is to import existing form handler definitions into PSAR. Importing and Exporting allows you to share form handler definitions with other PSAR users. After you've imported a form handler definition you are free to change whatever settings you like.

The form handler used in the video will by default extract all kinds of details out of incoming email and store them into the corresponding form handler database.

The sample also shows how to setup the filter that will match all incoming email.

The form handler definition used in the video can be found here. Simply download it and save this file on your PC. Then watch the movie.

Schedule Cycles Another movie to demonstrate how you can schedule the PSAR cycles using the advanced scheduler.
Use database queries in mailings This movie demonstrates how you can create a query to be used in your mailings. The demonstration shows how it is done to for instance send a mailing to all subscribers in a database except for AOL users.
